Photography allows me to explore the spaces where industry and nature collide — and coexist. Throughout this project, I was drawn to shipyards, steel mills, abandoned machinery, wild landscapes, and moments of natural beauty, like a sunset over the waters of Florida. Through my lens, I aim to capture the marks of ambition, decay, resilience, and renewal that shape the world around us.
Growing up near industrial areas, I often found unexpected beauty where others saw only emptiness or ruin. At the same time, I was drawn to the raw honesty of natural spaces — fields, skies, waterways, and untamed places where life continues to push forward. This project gave me a way to slow down and look more carefully: to notice the light falling on a rusted hull, the quiet strength of a wild bird, or the soft burn of a sunset fading into the horizon.
My style blends realism with subtle emotion. I chose to work in both muted color and black-and-white, highlighting the textures, structures, and moods of both human-made and natural environments. Color allowed me to capture the rawness of flame, growth, and sky; black-and-white revealed the stark forms and silent endurance of time.
This portfolio is a reflection on change — the tension between building and decay, survival and renewal, endings and beginnings. It speaks to what we create, what we leave behind, and what nature reclaims. In many ways, it mirrors my own transition: the close of my high school years and the beginning of my path as an artist.
Through this project, I have learned to see differently — to appreciate beauty in unlikely places and to find meaning in both the strength of steel and the fleeting colors of the sky. Photography taught me that every place, whether shaped by hands or left to the wild, carries a story waiting to be seen.
